Employers should take note that new legislation (Senate Bill 229), effective May 3, 2023, requires a child support order to include language that requires both parents to provide health insurance coverage, when available. However, if a child support order does not specify, the law will require that both parents provide coverage regardless of the absence of such language [L. 2023, S229].
